History

Inspired Systems was founded in August of 2008 by a group of engineers and scientists with extensive experience and a profound interest in applying automation and control to energy and operational efficiency issues, marine systems, energy generation and transmission, and building automation. Collectively, we have strong U.S. Navy, maritime, and, in addition to the common link in marine systems, we shared the desire to create a company that provided us an avenue to build new systems that are relevant to emerging global needs.

The lucky outcome of this confluence of diverse interests and abilities was a strong focus towards power engineering solutions as well as the application of automation and controls towards energy efficient solutions. Our background in automation and controls for Naval vessels, including reconfigurable networks (“self-healing”), remote operation, conditioned based maintenance, integration of components with various protocols, and autonomous command and control, all provide spot-on applicability to building structures that are energy efficient, provide greater comfort and convenience, and can accommodate renewable energy sources, whether on the grid or off. The interconnectivity possibilities are only bounded by the imagination, and come at a perfect time, matching the realization of matured technologies and a pressing global economy and ecology mandate. Our many years of working on automation and controls, and on the design of complex systems and platforms, have us poised perfectly to help usher in a new age of green indoor spaces with unprecedented livability.

Then there’s the marine systems and Navy connection.  Inspired Systems has expertise in the engineering and management with advanced power system and technology development programs. Experienced in the research, development, and integration of Electrical/Electro-Mechanical power systems and components. Our employees have had a hand in many major electrical systems designed and deployed on Naval Ships, both in the research and development phase and into system acquisition and fleet introduction.

Our ability to create a real significant difference for systems … homes, businesses, communities, ships, power systems … is integrally entwined with the colleagues, companies, and clients with whom we built relationships over the past several decades of engineering research and development. In teaming with these leaders in developing critical technology for national programs, we have discovered that we can tackle projects, large and small, to great effect, and with great success. We are including these teammates in our programs to take best advantage of their deep understanding of the physical world, and to extend their knowledge and time-tested toolsets to meet a new set of challenges.
